Sire of choice for height of shoulder, look and presence. Impeccable skeleton, ideal feet, heavy structured and athletic. Basecamp is a Dirty Secret son that comes from one of the deepest litters born here in late 2017. His mother is 248-5, one of three sisters that are It’s All Good x Swagger x Space Monkey. The 248’s are maternal sisters to 28-8, the mother of the Grand Barrow at ’17 OYE. The Swagger x Space Monkey sow on the bottom side is 15-7, a littermate to the Reserve Grand Barrow at ’13 FTW. At 80#, 120# and even 200#, Basecamp was the most impressive pig we had at HH during the spring and summer. The viewing public wasn’t nearly as impressed once he figured out he was a boar, but we stayed committed and are glad we did! His skeleton is impeccable, his joints are loose and his feet are strong. His attitude and presence are exactly what you’d hope your show barrow would have and we actually think his size and stature is a progressive step forward. We were selfish and didn’t share him much during the fall ‘ 18 breeding season but we used him harder than any other sire and we are sure glad we did! The first babies will sell this spring and we are ready to make his semen more readily available.
