• Originally referenced as “17” when we offered semen in the ’25 BTB, we’re excited to make TUFF available to the public! His first crop has exceeded high expectations, and he’s been used even more this time around!

• As written about in the BTB Catalog: In the ‘23 BTB offering, few females garnered more attention than Lot 201, aka 54-8. Her dam, the potent Dirty Lovin’ sow, backed by a Wedding Night female from 4K, had just generated a barrow (Gangster) that was Reserve Grand at Breeder’s Cup. At the time, we wrote; Dam leads the herd in nearly every category relative to moderation, pin set and rear leg circumference. That much is still true today, only exceeded by her daughter – 54-5. When the dust settled in ‘23, Weston Charles of Ally Genetics in CO had secured a 50% stake in 54-5 for $37,000. Fortunately, despite his significant investment, Weston is the patient kind of stockman because the road from BTB to present day was nothing short of bumpy. Raising livestock is best suited for the optimist; those who find a way to view the glass half full. If you spend your days wondering about the ones that got laid on, the ones that got strept, the sow that didn’t breed, or the boar that won’t collect, you’ll miss out on the living. We’ll spare you the details of the rest of the litter, but make no mistake, TUFF survived when the rest did not.
